No injuries were reported after a N.C. Highway Patrol helicopter crashed on a highway only south of Raleigh Sunday afternoon.
The pile-up happened in a center of Tyron Road nearby a state highway unit training and pushing facility.
According to a flight tracking website FlightAware, a Bell two-seater helicopter took off from Johnston Regional Airport in Smithfield during about 1:45 p.m. and crashed about 30 mins later.
