Traffic on a M6 in Cheshire has been brought to a hindrance following a collision involving dual lorries that has resulted in a spillage of thousands of litres of gin.
Motorists on a motorway between junctions 19 ( Knutsford ) and 20 (Lymm Interchange) are now stationary.
Initially those on a northbound carriageway were stopped, however both carriageways have given been brought to a halt.
A diversion is now in place, North West Motorway Police reports.
An entrance on transport monitoring website Inrix reads: “M6 Northbound closed, queueing trade for 2.5 miles due to accident, dual lorries concerned and spillage of 32,00 litres of solitaire from J19 A556 ( Knutsford ) to J20 M56 J9 ( Lymm Interchange).
“The highway has been sealed given around 17:50. Diversion – around A556 and M56.”
