FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Motorists in a state Kentucky will now find highway and trade information online at Goky.ky.gov, replacing a normal 511 transport and continue phone system.
The website provides travelers entrance to information per trade conditions, construction activity, and a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s (KYTC) response to weather-related events. The new GoKY website includes reports from KYTC as good as from Waze – a real-time trade stating focus formed on crowdsourced information.
The former 511 intelligent phone focus will no longer be offering or operational, including a content and email warning feature. Now, motorists who dial 511 will hear a brief phone summary informing them of a change. To ask Safety Assistance for Freeway Emergencies (SAFE) Patrol in cases of car relapse or to news incidents, motorists will be destined to call 877-FOR-KYTC.
To yield travelers with a mobile option, KYTC encourages motorists to download a giveaway Waze application. The app provides turn-by-turn navigation as good as trade reporting.
Officials say, over a final dual years, call volume to 511 has forsaken by scarcely 40 percent. This decrease stirred Cabinet members to weigh a hotline’s effectiveness. They contend phasing out a phone complement will save taxpayers adult to $750,000 annually.
