Former NCSU, Fayetteville State football actor killed in crash

Desmond Roberts, a former descent lineman during N.C. State and Fayetteville State, was among a 3 people killed in a head-on pile-up in Warren County.

The State Highway Patrol pronounced Roberts, 26, from Henrico, was pushing a Honda CRV that went opposite a core line of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Warrenton and collided with a Honda Accord driven by Brittany Nicole Silver, 29, around 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Roberts, Silver and 5-year-old Joshua Roberts of Gaston died, troopers said.

Roberts played for N.C. State after graduating from Northampton County High – West. He redshirted as a beginner in 2007, played in 6 games a following deteriorate and in 2011 eliminated to Fayetteville State.
