Traffic alert: Interstate 610 in New Orleans sealed until early Monday morning

State officials wish to remind motorists that Interstate 610 in New Orleans stays sealed until early Monday morning.

The closure went into place Friday night to promote a dispersion of a Wisner Bridge over I-610, a Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development said.

During a closure, I-610 from a Interstate 10 separate nearby West End Boulevard to a Gentilly Boulevard opening ramp will be sealed to motorists.

The road will be in outcome for both directions of I-610. Crews will open a widespread behind adult during 5 a.m. Monday.

DOTD pronounced during a closure eastward trade should take I-10 easterly to a Metairie Road/City Park Avenue exit. Traffic that would routinely exit during St. Bernard Avenue should take I-10 easterly to a North Claiborne Avenue exit. Traffic that would routinely exit during Elysian Fields Avenue or Franklin Avenue should take I-10 easterly to a Elysian Fields exit.

For westbound trade that would routinely exit on I-610 during Elysian Fields Avenue, North Broad Street or Paris Avenue, DOTD suggests regulating a Chef Menteur Highway or Franklin Avenue exits.
